Deadly insect found in a bag of rice at the airport in Los Angeles. Insects
were found by U.S. Customs officer was identified as a beetle species khapra.
As reported by the Telegraph,
Thursday (6 / 1), the customs officer said he found the adult beetle and its larvae
live in the bag of rice. Indian rice is rice that is sent from Saudi Arabia last
week. A spokesman for border protection and U.S. Costums Jaime Ruiz said Khapra
insect species are insects most harmful to plants and also the type of the most
difficult to eradicate because of its ability to survive even without food for months.
Parties to the airport finally decided to burn the package is to prevent transmission.
